Overview
Adaptation of Michel Houellebecq's novel. François, a university professor "in the midst of an existential crisis", witnesses an astonishing and totally unprecedented upheaval. In a France close to our own, the rise to power of the leading Muslim party is confirmed. Western civilization as we know it is in its final throes. Ben Abbès, a candidate with centrist and humanist ideas, surprisingly wins the presidential election against the Front National. François' disillusioned life is about to be turned upside down.
