Ektachrome Is Processed Every Friday layers images of Paju’s Yongjugol red-light district with footage of U.S. troops, nuclear-test exercises, border broadcasts, and local protests. Using photographic “delay”—from overexposure to reciprocity failure—as both material condition and metaphor, the work examines Paju’s suspended temporality and the latency of displaced images, while anticipating an emerging image regime that no longer allows delay.
