Biography

Yuji Moriyama (森山雄治, Moriyama Yūji, January 6, 1960) is a Japanese anime director, animator, animation supervisor and character designer from Tokyo. He is a member of the Japanese Animation Creators Association (JAniCA). He won the fourth Japan Anime Awards in the Animation Director category. Some of his many pennames are Yūji Motoyama (もとやまゆうじ), Jōdo Saihō (西宝壌土), Kotarō Kazama (風間小太郎), Norihiro Sunakawa (砂川則博), MONTAN, Wataya Shibakano (芝跨野渡也) , Tōya Shibamata (柴又十哉), Alan Smithee (阿藍隅史), Nachiko Nekobe (猫部那智子), and Tadao Uota (魚田尹夫).
