Biography
Adrián Saba was born in Madrid in 1988 to a Peruvian father and a Dutch mother. When he was five years old, his parents, who were involved in the theater world, moved to Peru. He received a Fulbright scholarship to study Film at Hofstra University in New York. In 2010, he completed his studies with his thesis short film, El río (The River), which was screened at festivals around the world and won awards at several of them. In 2011, he founded Flamingo Films to produce his projects, and shortly after, he was invited to join La Gris Films as one of its principal directors. At just 24 years old, he achieved his first accolades with his debut feature film, El limpiador (The Cleaner). The film, which tells the story of an epidemic in Lima and the relationships that emerge from the emergency, was well-received after its premiere at San Sebastián and won the New Voices/New Visions award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. He then directed his second feature film, El soñador (The Dreamer).
