Matthew Wiatt

Matthew Wiatt is a documentary filmmaker and the director of SABER, his feature-length directorial debut. The film follows a passionate group of LED saber combat athletes as they prepare for the Saber Legion World Championships. Matthew began his career in traditional broadcast television, contributing to series for ABC, PBS, Disney, Travel Channel, and others. As the Senior Producer at Indie Atlantic Films, he has led a wide range of creative projects and also served as Executive Producer and editor of the award-winning documentary Fly Like a Girl. A dyslexic thinker, Matthew brings a unique perspective to storytelling and is known for approaching each project from unexpected angles. He is a co-founder of Indie Atlantic Studios, a company dedicated to producing documentary films. Matthew is a graduate of Flagler College and lives in Central Florida.
