Biography
Andrés Magallanes, a graduate of Audiovisual Communication, has over 20 years of experience in the industry. He has worked in advertising, music videos, feature films, short films, etc. As a director of photography, he has six feature films to his credit, including: “Pueblo Viejo” (2014), winner of Best Film at the Almería Western Film Festival in Spain, and “La Pampa” (2022), which has been selected for over 40 festivals and has won more than 20 awards, including two for Best Cinematography at the Calzada de Calatrava International Film Festival in Spain (2023) and the Ayacucho Regional Film Festival (2023). He has participated in international projects such as “White Elephant” by Argentine director Pablo Trapero, “Icarus, A Vision” by Argentine director Leonor Caraballo, documentaries for NatGeo, and as Chief Lighting Technician on “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” by director Steven Caple Jr. He has filmed various advertising projects in Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Panama, the USA, and other countries, and also organizes training workshops with equipment rental companies. He has taught photography courses at higher education institutions.
