Biography
Janet Kumah is known for her roles in a number of popular TV shows, including her recurring role in the BAFTA nominated Sky Atlantic series ‘I Hate Suzie Too’ in which she played Clara. She has recently finished filming for Nick Love's new film 'Marching Powder', starring Danny Dyer which is out in early 2025. She had a major role playing Latisha in the 2024 Apple TV+ crime drama series ‘Criminal Record’, which starred Cush Jumbo and Peter Capaldi. She also appeared in series 4 of the Martin Freeman parenting black comedy series ‘Breeders’ on Sky One in late 2023. She had a number of other major roles in 2023 including playing Keme in the latest series of fantasy drama ‘Shadow and Bone’ on Netflix; playing recurring character Susan Scarsdale in the Paramount+ series ‘Chemistry of Death’; and guest starring as DS Donna Chainey in series 26 of the BBC’s Silent Witness, leading the investigation into a train crash caused by environmental activists. In 2021 and 2023 she played Dr Leslie Morris in series 2 & 3 of Sky Original political thriller drama ‘COBRA’. Other major TV credits include playing Aunty Joy in Idris Elba’s Sky comedy series ‘In The Long Run’ as well as appearances in ‘Enterprice’ (BBC), ‘Dark Heart’ (ITV) and ‘London Kills’ (Acorn TV). Janet has a neutral accent with hints of London which she can neutralise as required. Her parents are from Ghana so she also has an excellent Ghanaian accent.
