Uxmal Álvarez Trejo has been a student at the National School of Cinematographic Arts, the oldest film institution in Latin America, since 2022. His work is influenced by political cinema and social realism, as evidenced in Oasis, a documentary that portrays the lives of queer immigrants in Mexico City and received a mention in the prestigious José Rovirosa Award.
