For her first short film, Madeline wanted to create a story that was meaningful to her, but in particular the theme of keeping magic alive. There were a lot of strife and difficult times in her family but now in college, and looking back at it all, they were wonderful times. They kept all that difficult stuff aside, and made it a memorable time living with her grandparents. It felt like pure magic, and that’s what it has felt like being the older sibling. She still makes the elf on the shelf and santa a big thing at home. Keeping the small moments of magic alive is what has kept her family so close.
