Contestants audition in front of the judges who must narrow the field from 20 to 12; after the dust settles, the top 12 competitors make their way to the hotel, while the others head home.

3. The Duels

The top 12 contenders must compete in pairs by singing the same song; in this challenge, the contestants will have the opportunity to showcase their individual vocal styles and set themselves apart from each other.
