   We meet 33-year-old Dr Brendan Ryan, who is training to be a transplant and general surgeon. He is about to face one his biggest challenges yet - a solo kidney transplant.

   George Wright will give up one of his kidneys to save the life of his wife of 37 years, Helen. It's also a tense time for Brendan Ryan, who is working up to doing the operation solo.

   This will be the first day of 29-year-old Tim Tan's career as a doctor. After completing a science degree, pHd and medical degree, Tim is now qualified to start work on the wards as an intern.

   Two weeks into his first job as a doctor, Tim Tan starts the overtime shift, feared by all interns. Tim and another intern are responsible for all surgical patient in the hospital. Before long Tim is called to sort out a difficult case.

   30-year-old trainee orthopaedic surgeon Daniel Rahme must piece together the bones of Terry, the seriously injured motor cross rider who we met in episode 4 after he was brought into Westmead Emergency.

   Rookie orthopaedic surgeon Daniel Rahme will attempt a shoulder replacement for the very first time - on 82-year-old patient Myra Hudson. Daniel will be supervised by orthopaedic surgeon Dr Stuart Kirkham.

   Doctor Mary Langcake is a general surgeon who has just qualified to be an Upper Gastrointestinal Specialist. She is about to perform an operation she has never done solo before, to save the life of critically injured Kevin Cook.

   Doctor Mary Langcake is called to the hospital for a major trauma. A patient has been rushed in with a ruptured spleen. Shane Marten was unlucky enough to be in his car when a tree fell through the windscreen causing internal injuries.

    Rookie Doctor Rebecca Clarke is covering ten wards with more than 200 patients. It is Sunday, so she's on call for any crisis.
