This series of five episodes included the Norwegian oil adventure from the 1960s until today - an important period in Norwegian history. Norway knew nothing about oil and gas production when international oil giants wanted to explore the North Sea in 1962. But since the first oil discoveries on the Ekofisk field in 1969, Norway has grown into a technological and economic superpower, mainly thanks to the large revenues from the seabed on the Norwegian Continental Shelf . In 1965 Stavanger one of the poorest cities. Today the city is a world leader in the oil business.
