Season 8

The formatting for the season sees three contestants battle in each episode, with one eliminated mid-show while the other two battle out. A king/queen is crowned at the end of each episode who then moves on to the following episode, while the other in the top two gets eliminated. The season also includes themed nights for the first time.

   Two new celebrity singers enter the competition and perform iconic theme songs from TV shows throughout history; two unmaskings.

4. 4. Andrew Lloyd Webber Night

   Two new celebrity singers enter the competition and perform songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary music catalog; guest panelist Andrew Lloyd Webber.

5. 5. Muppets Night

   Miss Piggy serves as a guest panelist, with special appearances and performances by Kermit the Frog, Animal, Fozzie Bear and more Muppet favorites.

6. 6. '90s Night

   Two new characters enter the competition; the studio audience votes for one singer to be unmasked.

7. 7. Hall of Fame Night

   Three new characters enter the competition and two are unmasked; guest panelists Leslie Jordan and Joel McHale.

8. 8. Comedy Roast Night

   The panelists roast one another as two new characters enter the competition; guest appearances by Drew Carey and Jon Lovitz.

9. 9. Fright Night

   Two new contestants enter the competition, and two are unmasked.

10. 10. Battle of the Semi Finals

    Three contestants have sung their way to the Semi Finals and for the first time, a three-way battle ensues. One contestant will be eliminated and the remaining two will advance to the finals.
